The Lord reigns and is clothed with majesty and strength. The world is firmly established. God's throne was established long ago — he is from all eternity.

1 The Lord is King! He has wrapped himself in royal splendor. The Lord has dressed himself in strength and buckled it on tight. The world stands solid and secure; nothing can knock it loose. The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

2 Your throne was set in place from the very start. You have existed since before time began. Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.

Mightier Than the Seas

The seas lift their voices and crash their waves, but the Lord on high is mightier than them all. His laws stand firm and holiness adorns his house forever.

3 The rivers have risen, Lord! The rivers have lifted their voice. The rivers pound with crashing waves. The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

4 The oceans roar and the waves pound hard. But the Lord above is more powerful than all of it. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

5 Everything you have said can be completely trusted. Holiness makes your house beautiful, Lord, for all time to come. Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
