D&C 110
Section 110 of 138
What happens in D&C 110
A series of visions received April 3, 1836, in the Kirtland Temple, Easter Sunday, also the Jewish Passover. Jesus Christ appeared and accepted the temple. Then Moses, Elias, and Elijah each appeared in succession, restoring critical priesthood keys. Elijah's return fulfilled the prophecy of Malachi 4:5-6, making this one of the most pivotal events of the Restoration.

How this section connects to Christ
Elijah's appearance directly fulfills Malachi's prophecy that Elijah would come before the great and dreadful day of the Lord to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children.
The description of the glorified Savior with eyes as a flame of fire parallels John's vision of the risen Christ in the book of Revelation.
Moses' restoration of the keys of gathering fulfills Jeremiah's prophecy that God would gather Israel from all lands where they had been driven.
The dispensation of Abraham committed by Elias connects to God's original covenant with Abraham that through his seed all nations of the earth would be blessed.
Living D&C 110
Section 110 demonstrates that God fulfills his ancient promises with stunning precision—Elijah returned on Passover, the very day Jews traditionally set a place for him at their table. The sealing keys mean that families can be united eternally, not just for this life. Every temple ordinance, every family sealed together, traces its authority to this moment in Kirtland. This gives family relationships an eternal dimension that transforms how we treat one another.
