Psalms 134

A Nighttime Blessing

Study note

Come, praise the Lord, all you servants who minister by night in the house of the Lord. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord. May the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion.

1 Come, all you servants of the LORD who serve in his house during the nighttime hours — praise the LORD! Behold, bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD.
2 Lift your hands up toward the sanctuary and praise the LORD. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.
3 May the LORD, who made heaven and earth, send blessings down on you from Zion. The LORD that made heaven and earth bless thee out of Zion.

Living Psalms 134

This final Song of Ascents is a nighttime blessing: those who serve God even in the dark hours are invited to lift their hands and bless the Lord. Worship is not just for daylight. In the quiet hours when no one else is watching, lift your hands and praise. God meets those who seek Him in the night.
