Bible Verse Comparisons
KJV side-by-side with the Clarity Edition — for the most-searched scriptures in the Bible.
What you will find here
The King James Version has been the most widely read English Bible for over 400 years. Its language is majestic — and, for many modern readers, difficult. The Clarity Edition rewrites KJV passages at a 5th-grade reading level while preserving every theological nuance, without removing a single verse.
Each page in this collection shows both versions side-by-side, explains what the verse means, provides historical context, offers practical applications, and includes study questions for personal or group use. Every page also includes an FAQ and cross-references — everything you need for a meaningful encounter with scripture.

How the Clarity Edition works
The Clarity Edition is not a new translation from Greek and Hebrew manuscripts. It is a careful, systematic modernization of the King James Version — every verse preserved 1:1, every theological concept kept intact, archaic language updated to modern English.
The process followed strict scholarly principles: archaic vocabulary was mapped systematically (thee→you, hath→has, verily→truly), long sentences were broken into shorter ones, and every verse was scored using Flesch-Kincaid readability analysis. No verse that was already readable was rewritten. The data drove every decision.
The result: 7,957 New Testament verses and 31,102 Old Testament verses available in both the original KJV and the Clarity Edition — side by side, in the same app, switchable at any time.
